Alhambra is located on the eastern edge of Los Angeles and is the "Gateway to the San Gabriel Valley." It was incorporated July 11, 1903, and has grown to its present population of 85,804. The principal part of the land within Alhambra's present boundaries was included in a 1771 grant made to Mission San Gabriel, five years before the birth of our nation. There were no orchards or vineyards in San Gabriel Valley then, only dry uncultivated fields broken by arroyos and low-lying hills from the Mission San Gabriel west to the small Indian village called "Yang-na," which later become LA.

Altadena is part of unincorporated Los Angeles County. It is located just north of Pasadena and just east of La Caņada-Flintridge. The Los Angeles National Forest borders on the north. Neighboring La Caņada-Flintridge is home to Jet Propulsion Laboratories, operated by Cal Tech. Altadena has a homey country feel. Some areas are horse property. It's proximity to the mountains means that the backyards of some homes open onto trails.

Arcadia is known as the "Community of Homes". Many people have also found that it is a great place to conduct business. The following are valuable assets to the prospective business person: fast track permit processing, a fully staffed development services department, a first class fire department and police department. Home to the Santa Anita Race Track and the L.A. County Arboretum. San Gabriel is a city dedicated to preserving the culture, ideas and realities of our heritage. Mission life in America reached its fullest development in California, and in no other city is this more evident. When surrounding areas were still frontier lands, the Franciscan Fathers were engaged in founding a Mission; a Mission that would serve as a major catalyst in the growth of Southern California. The "pride of the California Missions," as it came to be known, supplied later Missions and settlements with such necessities as soap, wax, cloth, hides and food. San Marino, adjacent to the city of Pasadena, is located at the foot of San Gabriel Mountains. 3.75 square miles in size, the population is approximately 13,000. The city is noted for the excellent public school system, recipient of the California Distinguished School Awards. Test scores at all grade levels consistently rank among the highest in the state. San Marino has been called "the bedroom community" by many, as there are only single-family homes in the community.
